Eagan Update

I've been checking in on the blog to see what's up...seems like everyone is busy!

I talked to Nicole last week; she is in NC for a visit (left Thurs 6/12) and returns to CA around the 24th. Sounds like she plans to visit MN in early-mid August. Her plans aren't set just yet...one trip at a time, I guess.
Yesterday I went to a graduation party for Megan (I was her aide in 8th-10th grades). She is doing well; with all her mental & physical challenges she still a very happy girl:) This is the photo we had taken at her "beach party". I found out that her group home is within a mile of where I live, so I plan to visit with her over the summer.
I put together a photo album for Megan, so this past week I've spent a lot of time looking though photos. I have lots of pictures that need to be put together in albums...it's still on my "to do" list!
Shayla, I'm glad you arrived safely and that things are going so well for you. I was a little worried when I heard the report of "snow"...hopefully summer has arrived now and you'll have lots of outdoor fun!
Kathy, do you have a date for another sale. I know you're planning to have it available daily while you're sorting, but are you having another planned date like on Memorial Weekend? I know we talked about possibly another bake sale (wrapping individually) and fleece blankets, etc. I have been asked by a friend to make some cotton crocheted dishcloths (she's willing to pay $4-5 each). Was just wondering about any plans... I still have some stuff that needs new homes. How's the kitten population? Did you decide to keep any?
How's the job search going Katie? Hopefully your luck is better than mine. I do have some leads...hopefully something will come up for both of us:) Don't forget tho, to enjoy the summer, too...school will start before you know it! Be safe!!!
Tammy, I know your pain with all the homework! You're doing great, don't let the English be intimidating...I was so scared when I had English Comp and later English Lit. yikes! I was so scared about the writing for EC and then to have to analyze literature and poetry for EL was more than I felt I had the ability to do. I surprised myself...Aced both classes and found that I like to write and I now enjoy reading more. Where was that confidence when I needed it in high school? Try to think positively about the English and you will finish on top, like the rest of your classes:) One book that was required when I started college and I used it for most every class was "Hodges' Harbrace Handbook". I think it would help you with all the papers you have to write. It completely explains everything from punctuation, nouns, verbs, etc., as well as those APA and MLA notations. I still keep it on my desk and use it often! Just keep pluggin' away...don't sweat it, I know you'll do FINE!!
I just got done talking to Lu, so I'll need to get going and get some laundry, dishes, etc., done. The sun is out, so I may take advantage and do a little reading.
Enjoy the sun!!!
Pam

I found your post while researching crocheted dishcloths.

I like the way you have 'talked' individually to your friends and family. It makes it a very personal way of communicating. Will have to try that technique on my blog.
