Just a quick post to let you know that the Today Show had a news report about what the bears in Glacier do when no one is watching...except (of course) the hidden cameras. You can see part of the video report at http://today.msnbc.msn.com. Shayla, the park looks beautiful...just don't play with those cute little bear cubs or the other wildlife:) For me, the safe distance is watching them play on this video clip!
Any fun plans for the 4th of July holiday? Mom, I hope you'll relax and have some fun...after all those years working the food stands at the pow wow grounds, it really is your turn to sit back and enjoy:)
Looks, like a beautiful day...got to get back to the job search!
Catch ya later:)

Hi All- I haven't been on here in a while, so I thought I had better check in. Okay, first things first. I found an apartment on Rice Lake. It's next to Lum Park off of Hwy 210. Just East of Brainerd for those who don't know where Lum Park is. It is 2 miles from here. The apartment is okay, but the view is wonderful! And I have a lake in my back yard again. It should be ready to move into by the 10th of July, possibly sooner. I am pretty excited about that. I have been very stressed about all there is to do around here, and trying to get things sold off, if possible, and pack... but when I woke up this morning after finally getting a decent night's sleep I put it all into perspective and now realize there is nothing to be stressed about. I have a month to get things moved over and get rid of things here. I don't technically have to be out of here until the 15th of August, so that gives me plenty of time.
I ran the moving sale/plant sale this weekend. It was not too successful. But I looked at last year's sales and it is the same. I don't know if I should run it next weekend or not, being the 4th of July weekend. I am going to run an ad in the paper next time for the plant sale, whenever I have it.
Mitch and Emma found a place in town-a 2 bedroom house-to rent and can move in on the 15th. Mac is going to move in with me for now.
I wish knew the solution for the fundraising. I know Brea is discouraged. If I do raise any money, I will put it on the other walkers accounts or hang on to it, since it can't be tranferred to another team member's account.
I don't know what key I hit to make the italics come on, so I can't fix it. I have to run anyway. I'll write again soon.

WHAT SHE SAID!!!
THAT'S MY GIRL, SMART-JUST LIKE HER MOM:) (re:Tammy/Glen)
As far as manning a brat stand, you know I'd do it. Just let me know tomorrow what the "right person" has to say. How about Wal-Mart? Would they let us do it too? Congrats Tammy on acing your test! Congrats Kathy, Mitch and Emma for finding your new digs. This is short and sweet tonite-as it is already passed my bedtime. Love y'all. Later. Luke.

HELL, I'LL BUY THE RING!!!
Yeah, that's right! Tammy it sounds to me like you are both just insecure, and imagine that; funny thing happens when you get burned. Over and Over. Thank you, Psych 101. Actually that is a class I would love to take for fun. Anyway, like I said it just sounds like you are insecure and to me that is good news because you both still love each other and want to be together, you are just always worried that what you each are saying is a sugar coated version of what you each mean, so I think you both probably have your guard up even though you trust each other it is still hard to fully let them in and you are probably just scared that he's thinking something worse than what he is saying when really he isn't brave enough to say how he feels about you and vice versa. For example since I feel like that doesn't make sense, he says to someone, "yeah, I kinda like her" and you take it literally, or worse, you think that he is being nice and doesn't want to say he's "just not that into you" (side note, who's bringing that movie to breezy?? :)); when really what he is too scared to say is "I'm in love with her and hope we spend the rest of our lives together". So basically it is like you are both a little scared to throw your real feelings out there because you are afraid they won't be reciprocated, when really it's a game of 16 year old "I love you", "I love you more", no I love YOU more", "no...". Ah, the good ol days. I think you should get off this blog, march over to his house, give him a big smooch, tell him you love him and aren't letting him go. And hey, ask for a ring while you're at it...it would save me some money. ;) I don't know if you remember this, but when I was with Jason (he wasn't physically with me at the moment) we were all at Ron and Karen's in Red Wing for I think Amy's grad or something, I think you had all gone tubing earlier in the day...I may actually be getting my parties mixed up but it was the time that you, me, Kathy, my mom went to ChiChi's on our way "home" and anway you were with Glen and I just remember how you exuded such happiness and talking to you about my relationship with Jason and how I SOOOO wished I could be happy, like you clearly were. That nbeing said, I don't think you guys ever lost that happiness; I think you just started second guessing each other's happiness which put you where you are now and in my opinion is easily reversible; you just have to make it happen. So DO IT and let us know what happens!
AWESOME job on all the tests!
It's funny you brought up the fundraising, well it isn't that funny I guess since mom brought it up and I responded; but just last night I sent Bre and Jess this LONG email basically venting about my personal frustration with my personal lack of success and I can see what they have for money but we haven't really talked about it in a while so I wanted to see how they were both feeling about it and if they have any ideas. I know Brea is gone all week every week so she has basically no time whatsoever to even think about this. One thing that is nice about grocery stores is that you don't really have to set up anything or solicit donations; you can just run the brat stand (they supply the food, you just hand it out and take the money!). The only problem is whether they have any dates open. I was just telling the girls that too because I know I brought that up before, and I'm sure we've all gone food shopping on a nice day and bought a brat (I just did on Sunday!) so you all know what I'm talking about; anyway, I called a few down here (Cub Foods) and they are booked solid through the season. Apparently they book up in March for the whole summer so I was bummed to hear that. I called the Coborn's in LF and was told to call back Thursday to talk to the right person and they might have slots open during the week, which my mommy would have to volunteer for since I can't quite do it during the week. I just called Foley coborn's and they said they are booked for the whole summer and only do Fridays and Saturdays. I was going to ask if there was anything else we could do there to fundraise but remembered right after we hung up. So whatever you think you can do to help is so awesome, and don't worry about thinking you are not good at that kind of thing because I am certainly not either. I was a little relieved to hear from you that Jess is getting bummed because misery loves company and other people going down just motivates me to pull us all back up!!
I think I've written so much that people probably won't even read it all, so I think I'll stop now! Later, yapperoonies!!

A Little Bit Of Everything
Hey all! To all who asked, and those who didn't, school is going pretty good I guess. I have 16 assignments/tests turned in and I am again at 92%. I can't complain about that. I still have 2 English assignments to turn in(I just can't seem to get myself to do the stupid things). I finished Office Word, (got 100 on my test), and am on the second unit in Office Excel(there are 8). I got my Medical Terminology, that will be interesting once I get going a little better. Right now, it's quite overwhelming. I have to learn what the prefixes and suffixes mean. Once I figure that out, I will be able to figure out any medical term. I looked through the book(all 672 pages) and it is pretty cool how you can figure words out. Also, it is mainly body parts and functions so it will set me up pretty good for Anatomy and Physiology. I hope!
As far as Glen and I go, we need to communicate better. We get along great but we aren't very good at discussing how we really feel. It is quite clear that we love each other but we are both guilty in hearing something other than what was intended. For instance, I did not put my heart and soul in to him moving in here because I heard him tell someone that he "was gonna stay at Tammy's for awhile". I heard "he had no intention of staying here." By my holding back, he thought I did not want him here. I did not mention the fact that I was taking time off work, (I didn't really think he would care one way or the other) so when I told him about it a few days before my time started, he thought I did not want to spend the time with him. He was kinda hurt that I was taking time off and didn't bother telling him cause he would have taken time off and we would have went somewhere. So, now that he has moved out, we have agreed to talk about 'what we hear' if it's something we don't like. Because it's very possible it's not what was intended. He has already hinted something about me moving to his place, and I said I would need some kind of proof that he was in it this time, like a promise ring or something (a big promise ring, like an engagement ring without the wedding band works for me). So, the love is still there, we just have to figure out how to hear what is actually said and not what we think was said. Other than that, we are fine.
We need to figure out what to do for these girls who are stepping up for us Weigel's. They need lots of money. I don't know about the other two but Jessi's getting pretty frustrated that things aren't moving more quickly. She hasn't raised the money she was hoping to and is getting pretty bummed about it. I am planning to set somethng up at Coborn's in Foley, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't think I'm gonna try to sell anything, just set up a nice table and ask people if they would like to donate to The Three Day fund. I am not good at that but it's the least I can do. Now, I just need to do it! Sorry girls that I'm dragging my feet but I will do it.
I spose I should try to get another chapter in Excel done and go to bed. Yap at ya all later.

WWW
Regarding the fundraising, well it is kind of sucking for me. I am not terribly creative nor do I really have any money to invest in starting a fundraiser (for the ones that "take money to make money" anyway) so right now I am trying to figure out what to do and don't have any ideas at the moment. Jessi is in the lead with over $600, I have less than $500 and Brea has $100. So I know the idea is every man for himself and then whoever is done first will help out the others, but right now I'm seeing the big pcture which is that collectively we need another $5000. I'm not real worried, but I'm getting there and need to figure out what to do so if anyone has any ideas, feel free to throw them at me. One idea I did have was to work the brat fundraiser at cub or wherever (most grocery stores do it; the hot dog/brat/chips/pop stand is always a fundraiser...) anyway I called a few around here and as I started to suspect, I'm about three months too late...they are booked solid for the year and fill up in March each year for the summer season. So again, any ideas out there, throw 'em at me!
Nice Weekend!
Howdy, Yappers! I had a very nice weekend. I didn't have to work Fri except at Daves for a few hours. Then I got to stay up late and sleep in on Sat. It was nice out and I mowed lawn. Then I worked downstairs for a while. My other-sister-Kathy had the last of 6 kids getting married. The wedding was in Freeport and the dance and reception were in Albany. It was great seeing everyone again. Then, I had a hotel room to myself, so I got to watch a chick flick (You've got mail) ya, I know, but I like it anyway. I crashed the pool room and had that to myself too. First I went swimming then hit the hot tub... it was great. I didn't even have a suit with me so I just went in a tank top and shorts. I didn't go to bed til about 2 and I got to sleep in Sunday too. Then I got to talk Jen before she left, and I got to see Jeannie, Tim was still sleeping at almost 11:) I also got to say goodbye to the Welle clan. I can't speak for anyone else, but I had a great time.
I got my notice for my $600 today, yeah!!! So did Kathy, we are both set up for the 27th. I bought a DVD player for the tv downstairs but I can't seem to get it to work on this tv so I donated it to Mom and Ed since their's is not working. At least now we can watch movies somewhere! It was only $30 so I'm guessing it doesn't pay to get their old one fixed.
Mom and Ed are going on a 2-day trip tomorrow to Winona. The itinerary keeps them busy! (which I have if anyone wants or needs any info)
How's it going: TJ-school & work, Shayla-work and play, Kathy-apt-investigating & garage sale prep, Fundraising- WWW's, Katie & Pam-Job hunting--don't forget to enjoy the summer - All.
Well, I've got to get to my homework. (It's time to pay some bills, it's the monday after payday and I still have some $$ left, things are looking up!!:) Later Dudes, love ya Luke

gab....
Happy Summer Everybody! It has actually even felt like summer the last couple days...yea!!!
Kathy, wanted to let you know that the last weekend in June is Austin's baseball tournament, so I won't be able to make it up then. July 24-26 would be good, since the 27th is your mom's party...so I'd already be there:) . I do have some things to add to your inventory; if anyone here in the cities is going up before 7/24 and can stop by and pick it up, that would be great! Of course, I still have to go through some stuff in the garage, yet...what else is new!
Congrats to Tongsen! Did his whole family become citizens, too? Any decisions yet about where he'll live?
When in July are you thinking about going out to Glacier, Kath? Do you think you'll fly or do you want to drive? I'd love to go, but need to watch my pennies and flights are pretty expensive now! If there's a few going, it could work out to be cheaper to drive and everyone could share the monotony of Montana driving. Keep updating:) I've been checking out prices to Seattle to see my Aunt. There are some cheap redeyes on SunCountry around the 4th. We'll see. It gets expensive with a rental car and motel, tho.
Sounds like you're having a great time out west, Shayla! Stay safe and enjoy:)
How's the homework coming Tammy? Sorry to hear about Glen. I really like him and everyone knows how much he cares for you...maybe it's just a "commitment" issue or maybe that male ego is feeling left out with your commitment to your school work. You both seem to communicate well, so hopefully time will clear up whatever issues might be there for both of you.
Nothing much is new here...still looking for a job! How's your job hunt going Katie? What about you Mack?
Enjoy the last of summer's first weekend...
Pam

Kiash the jabberbox here....
Just wanted to let you know that I am still alive and well. I've been checking/reading your blogs but haven't taken the time to post my own, so here goes....
Pam, I was going to have a sale tomorrow. Was planning on spending today getting prepped for it, but I had forgotten that I was going to your old stomping grounds, Bethel College, for Tongsen's Citizenship ceremony. He is now sworn in as a US Citizen. (He has been a student of mine for 7 years and I have been a friend of their family as well.) Anyway, I didn't get the sale ready. I was thinking of Saturday. We'll see if I can get to it tomorrow. As far as a planned weekend sale, let me know what works for you. Do you think the 4th of July weekend would be prosperous? I was looking at the calendar yesterday and was considering the last weekends in June and July. I have been busy and have not set up the ongoing sale that I had hoped to (obviously), but still want to get on this as I have a ton to get rid of.
As far as the kittens go. Two have gone to families so far. I think I am keeping Fatty, possibly renaming her Rahjah. What do you think of the name? I think I like it.
Tammy, we're on for the seafood buffet this Friday. I don't mind that Glen is there, you know that. I'm not sure if Jesse is coming. I haven't talked to him, but he probably will since we've been trying to get this accomplished this summer. I got tickets for the Twin's game on Sunday for Jesse and me. Behind home plate. Not sure how far up but they were a reserved block of tickets for educator appreciation. If you want to go to that too, let me know. Not sure if we could get seats together, but I get a good discount. ($12 instead of $21).
I'm going out to see Shayla sometime in July. It is so beautiful there, I look forward to the serenity. And of course, seeing Shayla!
Mac and I went on a fishing launch on Mille Lacs the other day. It was freezing cold out there on the big lake, as it was very windy. We didn't have great success, but it is always fun.
Thinking again about the garage sale....Maybe it would be a good idea to have one the 26-28 of this month, then again the 24-26 of July? That's what I'm thinking right now, how does that sound to you, Pam? Or anyone else, if you're interested? That way I'll have a week to get the garage cleaned up and some more plants ready to go. Not sure if they will go as well this time of year, but may as well try. I have a couple people interested in getting some plants now, so I'll try to get them out here this week to get the supply thinned out a little.
Okay, this is a novella already, so I am going to sign off. I could go on and on....oh yeah, I did:) Etalk at y'all later.

dear tammy jo
I would have the computer test done in like 15 seconds but that's just me and I'm awesome. HA! the only reason I know anything is because I've been using one for work for five years where I use microsoft office programs like excel, word, etc. I'm no wizard but I get by and only know anything from experience so don't feel bad.
I hope glen realizes that he can't live without you. :) you guys seemed very happy together before and he seems to be just a down to earth, kind person and we can always use more of that in the weigel clan. I'm not sure what he's trying to sort out but hopefully it doesn't take him long. it's very sweet that he asked you out for breakfast both days that he has been gone. whatever that means I don't know but i'm sure it felt nice. when he first moved back in it kind of felt to me like a friendship-help him out after surgery type of thing. I didn't get the same vibe between the two of you the one time I saw you both in that period so i guess I could tell that you guys weren't quite to the same point that you used to be. but like you said, you felt like it may have been a temporary thing so there you go; like you said now you just need to move on with your life and let him decide if he is going to be in it or not.

life sucks sometimes
Jen, I didn't know you had your identity stolen. That sucks. As far as Glen goes, I don't think he's jerking me around. I may be blind in the situation, but I don't think so. I would love to spend the rest of my life with him. I seriously don't know if this is going to happen or not. I am not totally inocent in him moving out. I had doubts about his intention about moving in so I was not real welcoming when he moved in. We were kinda like roommates. I did not tell him about my concerns because I was afraid he would leave, but at the same time, I didn't expect him to stay. It's sounds stupid because I can't explain it very good. But, the bottom line is... if we continue on, great, if not, that's ok too. I will be fine. The night before he moved out, we had a good talk( I had nothing to lose cause he's leaving anyway). I'm glad we talked because I told him how I felt about him moving in and I think he understands how I felt. I don't know that it is gonna make a difference but at least I spoke my mind. He's been out for two days and both mornings, he called and asked me out for breakfast. There's gotta be something there right? Don't get me wrong, I am not waiting around and putting my life on hold for him or anything. I'm just at the point where it's up to him to decied if this is gonna work. I'm here if he wants me to be but not going out of my way. That probably doesn't make sense but I know what I mean and that's all that matters. You all know me well enough to know I'm not a lovesick fool who's waiting to get hurt. If it comes to the point where there's someone else involved, I'm done. But if it's just he and I, I have nothing but time until he gets this figured out. He is a great guy, we just got lost somewhere and he needs to figure out if he wants to continue or not. I don't mean that in a bad way. Ok, I'm gonna stop with that now cause the more I say, the more confusing it gets.
Look... a new paragraph! The last english assignment I sent in, (the one I was avoiding at Mac's party), I got a 92. I have two more assignments in English, and I have every intention of pounding these out this week and being done with it. My Medical Terminology was sent Fri so that should be here any day. Computers is gonna take awhile cause there are two books, Office Word and Office Excel. I enjoy it so far but each book has 8 units, and each units has anywhere from 3 to 7 files. I downloaded these and they are printed documents that I have to change to make them look like they want them to look. I'm enjoying it. For all you who know how to use computers, you would probably be done but I know nothing about it so I actually have to read the directions on how to cut, paste, insert pictures and graphs and all that. It's fun though.
Wow huh? Another one. I went in my closet to get my stereo back out yesterday, only to find that the box is soaking wet. So, I guess I will be going through boxes and repacking and throwing away accordingly. I don't know if they are all wet or just the ones in the corner but I guess I will find out this week. One more day(today) and I begin my six days off. Kathy, Glen would like to come with to supper on Friday if you don't mind. I invited him cause I figured we wouldn't be getting into any deep conversations cause Jesse is going too right? Let me know if you're still planning on going. If I don't hear from ya on here by Wednesday, I'll give you a call. I spose I should try to get another computer task done before I go to work. I have an hour and that's how long it takes. Ha Ha Ha. You guys would probably have it done in about 15-20 minutes. Oh well. I'm sure I won't remember this stuff but I have the books if I should ever need them. Yap at ya all later.

yeehaw!
I saw that word in two other posts recently so I thought I'd throw it in too. Not much to say just in to say hi. But every time I say that I end up with a lot to say. I went to refi my car the other day (yes, the car I bought only 6 mos ago, but my APR sucks...) and found on my credit report that the blonde bitch that stole my identity two years ago is still giving me headaches. You got it, one of the things she screwed up in my life is still on my report. So I had to drive up to buffalo on friday and get a copy of my police report so that I can mail it to the place that thinks that I, Jennifer L. Yorek, bounced a check at. So of course friday night I read through my literally inch thick police report. It was interesting because I actually forgot a lot of the details that were in it, so it was sort or strange to relive it and now it is all fresh in my brain (again) and making my blood boil (again). So I went online because it is literally impossible to speak to a rep at experian, trans union or equifax without having a dispute filed online and waiting weeks for them to respond by mail, so I filed my dispute online with the credit bureaus and tomorrow I will mail a copy of my police report to the place that Sheryl Ann Sundberg bounced a check in my name at (does that sentence make any sense?!). and she's like, 40something. no offense to the 40somethings of the weigel world but she looks NOTHING like me and she's twice my age. One thing I forgot about until reading the report was that at one of her offenses in Mille Lacs (this lady stirred up trouble for me in three counties...) at the casino she got busted I think for trying to cash $1000 check into someone else's name (actually not mine on THAT check), the cop that knows her mess well busted her there and he and another tribal police officer were asking if she had ID on her and she said no, then the one cop asked her if she has anything in her purse that they should know about and she started crying and said yes she had other IDs (mine being one of them) and needles (for drugs) and checkbookS (in my name). Makes me kind of sick just thinking about it. A small part of me feels bad for her because she is just so messed up but I was and now again I am too pissed to care. The kicker is, she was sentenced (after my case) to 21 months in prison, which means she is already out now (7/10/06 a great day: mom's diagnosis and my first trip to buffalo mn to discover and report id theft and fraud) out of prison and screwing up someone else's life, maybe mine again, and I'm still cleaning up the puke from the first time. Better be the only time.
so like I said, when I say I have nothing to say, I end up saying plenty.
Tammy, it sounds like glen is jerking you around. but he always seemed like a nice guy so maybe I'm missing something. how do you feel about him coming and going and coming and going again and still wanting to date? Also I think a seafood buffet pretty much always trumps homework.
OK now I'm tired and surely have more to say but I'm done complaining about my credit. but by the way my refi went well even considering; my new APR is significantly less than what I have had the last six months and I am only three points (on my credit score) away from being in the next bracket so as soon as this last thing is off my report my score will go up again and I can refi again and be even lower. so yeah, all about me this time, sorry!
Take care, yappers!

Eagan Update

I've been checking in on the blog to see what's up...seems like everyone is busy!
I talked to Nicole last week; she is in NC for a visit (left Thurs 6/12) and returns to CA around the 24th. Sounds like she plans to visit MN in early-mid August. Her plans aren't set just yet...one trip at a time, I guess.
Yesterday I went to a graduation party for Megan (I was her aide in 8th-10th grades). She is doing well; with all her mental & physical challenges she still a very happy girl:) This is the photo we had taken at her "beach party". I found out that her group home is within a mile of where I live, so I plan to visit with her over the summer.
I put together a photo album for Megan, so this past week I've spent a lot of time looking though photos. I have lots of pictures that need to be put together in albums...it's still on my "to do" list!
Shayla, I'm glad you arrived safely and that things are going so well for you. I was a little worried when I heard the report of "snow"...hopefully summer has arrived now and you'll have lots of outdoor fun!
Kathy, do you have a date for another sale. I know you're planning to have it available daily while you're sorting, but are you having another planned date like on Memorial Weekend? I know we talked about possibly another bake sale (wrapping individually) and fleece blankets, etc. I have been asked by a friend to make some cotton crocheted dishcloths (she's willing to pay $4-5 each). Was just wondering about any plans... I still have some stuff that needs new homes. How's the kitten population? Did you decide to keep any?
How's the job search going Katie? Hopefully your luck is better than mine. I do have some leads...hopefully something will come up for both of us:) Don't forget tho, to enjoy the summer, too...school will start before you know it! Be safe!!!
Tammy, I know your pain with all the homework! You're doing great, don't let the English be intimidating...I was so scared when I had English Comp and later English Lit. yikes! I was so scared about the writing for EC and then to have to analyze literature and poetry for EL was more than I felt I had the ability to do. I surprised myself...Aced both classes and found that I like to write and I now enjoy reading more. Where was that confidence when I needed it in high school? Try to think positively about the English and you will finish on top, like the rest of your classes:) One book that was required when I started college and I used it for most every class was "Hodges' Harbrace Handbook". I think it would help you with all the papers you have to write. It completely explains everything from punctuation, nouns, verbs, etc., as well as those APA and MLA notations. I still keep it on my desk and use it often! Just keep pluggin' away...don't sweat it, I know you'll do FINE!!
I just got done talking to Lu, so I'll need to get going and get some laundry, dishes, etc., done. The sun is out, so I may take advantage and do a little reading.
Enjoy the sun!!!

It's been a while
Wow, I didn't realize it's been so long since I checked in. Shayla, it sounds like you're having a wonderful time. That's great. I have been busy with work, school, and life. It's been kinda stressful around here. Glen has decided once again that he wants his own place. He is moving out tomoro. This doesn't surprise me though. I kinda felt it from when he moved in that he wouldn't be staying. Oh well, back on my own. He says he still wants to date, so we'll see what happens. I don't have a problem being in my own space either so I'm fine with the whole deal. As far as work and school goes...I work Sat. Sun. and Mon. then I have six glorious(and they will be glorious, whether it's nice out or not) days off. WOW! I plan on getting alot of school work done. Due to the fact that I didn't have the right software, I didn't get very far in the computer unit before I got stuck so I started english(yeeha). I am struggling with that a bit, in fact, after a couple assignments, I am now down to 91%. I didn't like it in HS and I guess I still don't care for it. So I went back to the computer unit cause I have the right stuff now. I just checked on my student page only to find that I got far enough in english that they have sent my medical terminology stuff. I should get that some time this week. I'll have six days off and three units to work on. Guess what I'll be doing? I was talking about these classes at work and the DON asked what I was doing and when I told her, she got all excited cause she seems to think we need a coder around there. That would be cool if I could get my experience there instead of having to go somewhere else and starting at the bottom again. But, this is her idea, not the administators. I have learned not to get too excited about anything around there until it happens. I have been offered a few things only to have them get shot down by the top dog. I only have to use three days of vacation for these six days so I will still have 2 more to burn up. I have to use it up before Sept 18 cause I get another week then. I will lose anything I haven't used up so I may as well use it right? Other than that, nothing exciting. But, that's enough I'd say. Kathy, are we still on for next weekend? Seafood and/or a game? It doesn't really matter, just let me know. One or the other would be fine with me cause I really want to crack down on this school stuff. If I had to choose between the two, I'd have to say seafood buffet. I guess that's it for now. Yap at ya all later.
p.s. no comments are neccesary, or wanted, on my english skills in this post. I've always been a one paragraph kind of girl. Get used to it. Later!
p.s.#2 Lu, it's bingo this Tuesday. See ya there or be square.

Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy!
Hey everyone. Things are still going swimmingly out here. My only concern had been my friend Mark who was just turned into the hospital last week right around Mac's party. But I got a detailed message from his dad yesterday, too detailed since he's a doctor himself. But it sounds like he's on the mend. And he has some kind of serious brain condition (very long word) that was caused by lymes. So watch out for those ticks this year. He was probably bit last year and it would be like lymes for it to not really effect him until now. Or that's what I'm told anyway. But it sure is weird to know somebody really well and see no signs of anything and then find out a week later that he doesn't even know his parents or how to walk well. But they put him on antibiotics and he's showing improvements. But it sure has been stressful for his parents trying to get good hospital care out in nyc. Apparently they had to beg them to take him out of a cell in the mental ward after he was there for 4 days. Ridiculous!
But anyway, things out here have been really great. The sun is shining today and it's gorgeous. The lake is turquoise and the mountains are covered in snow. I'll probably go hiking of biking or running this evening. I started my job yesterday and it's gonna be just fine. They get really busy. Which is cool with me. I'd rather be slammed and have the day fly anyway. I don't get stressed anymore. After 6 years of waitressing I've learned that even the biggest problems aren't real problems, so there's no point letting your blood pressure rise. It's just food! Not rocket science.
I went to a local bar last night. There were a bunch of river guides from the rafting co. there. A few of my friends and I have already decided to play spades and shanghi all the time and hike on our days off. So I'm all set for the summer. Now all we have to do is befriend those rafting guides so we can get free rides! Things are looking pretty darn good! I think it's going to be hard not to come back here next summer. Lots of people do.
And yesterday I drove this cool guy home from the bar who used to do wildlife photography out at Yellowstone. And he promises me that if I go hiking with him, I will see Grizzleys. From a safe distance of course. Plus he's a bear spray pro, so I'd like to have him along anyway. And he has really cool animal pictures, (exp. he found this fox den in Yellowstone and says he has pictures of baby foxes). And anyone who knows me kinda knows that I'm a tree-hugggin', animal-loving freak so that's pretty cool to me.
Anyway, I wish you all could be out here too. It feels great!
Love you all.
Shayla

Katie-you're not the only one who is glad school is out for the summer. Yeehah! I don't have summer school this year either, so I am hoping to get a garage/plant sale going throughout the summer. Hopefully, will get it started next week.

Glacier
Hey Guys~
Everything is going great. The people are really cool. I made it here with no problems. And found a great hotel for the night. Got here early afternoon yesterday and got all moved in. My roomate's cool. She's from Serbia and has a boyfriend here so she doesn't sleep there. So I sort of have my own room, which would make me the only one in the girls dorm since it's packed to the gills. So that worked out pretty sweet.
All in all I'm just really happy to be here, it's snowing right now, but I can see the mountains through the clouds now and then and know that it's going to be really beautiful very soon. Plus the rec rooms neat. And it's chill, and I'll make some really good money too. So I'm really happy.
Love you all. Hope your great!

catching up on everything
Finally summer. which is a point in kids lives when they are happy. I'm happy that school is done but so far my summer has been boring. I'm getting frustrated because i can not find a job. Cody is always reminding me that he has a car and i don't. i have been looking for a job and applying for about 4 months now and still nothing. it kind of sucks. i still babysit but when i started i was getting paid $5.50 an hour but now its down to about $2.77 an hour. i have a cell phone bill and when i drive Dad's car i have to put in gas. so yeah I'm struggling. but what can i say, I'm sure that I'm not the only one. Mom i hope you get every thing figured out. Talk to you all later.

Playing Hooky
Hi All, Shayla left me a message, she has arrived and loves it already. Her roomie seems nice, the dorm's not too bad either. [Switch that around and it could be a pretty good joke:)] She gets cell phone signal about 15 minutes away so she'll be able to check it every day or two.
I'm trying to finish up at Dave's. The wall guy just got done and carpet comes on Thurs. So I'm painting today and Kathy's gonna work for a few days. Yeah. That's all for now, later, dudes. (I'd say dudettes, but I think we're more kind of a dude bunch. Have a good'n' Luke

Just a hello
Hi everyone. Thank you all for your work on the garage sale on Memorial! Thank you Pam for the donation and everything!! I had a garage sale myself this last weekend to raise some money for that and raised about 435. So that helps!
Is anyone going out to visit Shayla this summer? She must have left already...? How did the party go? Any crazy stuff happen? :)
Have a good day folks!

Shayla Says
I'm really looking forward to this weekend. We're trying to get the place ready piece by piece. But the weather hasn't been great for getting the yard ready. I saw a weather report yesterday that said it's going to rain from now until tuesday, so I hope they're wrong.
Pam, I think either some of that jello cake or some bars would be a good hit. Seems like bars and cake are pretty much no fail desserts. Thanks for doing that, it sure helps a lot.
Lu sorry to hear about your injury, that's awful. I don't know much about that kind of stuff. But I hope you're able to nurse it back to health. Don't suppose your really able to take it easy though.
See you all soon.

"CRASH" Returns
Hi All. I'm looking forward to Sat too. I'm also offering extra help if desired, Kath, so let me know. The dumbest thing happened last nite. I rode my bike up to Casey's, then around Mom's neighborhood a little and when I tried stopping on a slight incline the brakes worked almost too well. I almost crashed and by preventing my fall I kind of thru out my hip. I used my leg to save me from falling but (most of me) and the bike moved away from my planted foot and my left hip (and cheek!) are revealing muscles I didn't know I had. It's when I extend my lower leg that it pulls on the top half. I think maybe I bothered my siatic also. (?) Sitting, I can only bring my foot off the floor about 8" without pain. It sounds like a scene from a comedy. Should I be doing some type of exercise, or stretches or will it just take time to get back to normal? Open to suggestions. I'll see a bunch of you in Brainered so ta ta for now. Luke

Is it summer yet?
Well, the calendar says June but the climate seems like April; I guess we just have to believe that summer will arrive SOON! Looking forward to seeing everyone Sat in Brainerd!! Shayla, I hope to be able to come out and see you at Glacier, if not then in Seattle!!! I know how quickly time passes, unfortunately as you get older it seems to go even faster...maybe it's that "over the hill" syndrome picking up steam.
Hey Kathy, I can bring some desserts. Do you have any preferences? I could bring jello cake (the weatherman is saying 80 on Sat...he'd better be right), cookies, bars, punch bowl cake (it serves a lot), or whatever? Any preferences? Mack, what do you like? I see the party is Sat afternoon; I'll have Austin with, do you need help before (come up Fri) or do you want us to wait til Sat? Austin's last day of school is Thurs, has a baseball game in the evening, so we could come Friday if you need us:) Is there anything else that you need me to bring? (card table, serving dishes, containers, ?) Let me know...
Tammy, sorry you're having such a difficult time with your computer programs. I had hoped the program would have helped. I had lots of problems throughout my classes, too. Melissa bought the program for me so I could work from home, which was fine for doing the work; it was the down/uploading info w/dial-up that caused my problems, too. It wasn't until the last couple months of classes that I got high speed internet. Dial-up was awful! I think I told you that I would be taking long tests that included essay questions and my computer would time out w/o me knowing and when I'd submit it was all lost. It was so frustrating, so I know your pain!
If that program didn't help, I do have Microsoft Office Professional (2004) that I was able to buy through school for $50 (during my last quarter, of course). I would think that it would work, so don't buy the program til we try this!!!! Just left you a vm about this...I really think this would work. The only thing (that I can think of ) that might be a problem is if your school is using Microsoft Vista (the new program) rather than Microsoft XP. I would (personally) not recommend that you buy Vista (which is all that is out there, now) as the reviews are terrible and most who have it want XP back. It seems that Vista has been causing computers to crash. Just an opinion.
It seems kind of strange that you're required to write these letters without having any instruction on structure or business writing...I can bring some of my info on Saturday. Anything else that you think you may need?
It looks like there is a peek of sunshine outside, think I'll go take a look before the clouds reappear. Everyone have a nice day...looking forward to seeing you Sat!

It seems kind of strange that you're required to write these letters without having any instruction on structure or business writing...I can bring some of my info on Saturday. Anything else that you think you may need?
It looks like there is a peek of sunshine outside, think I'll go take a look before the clouds reappear. Everyone have a nice day...looking forward to seeing you Sat!

tammy is going crazy!!
Here's the deal. Pam, I got the microsoft cd,(thank you for sending them, I will bring them to the party so you can have it back), downloaded them and started the computer unit. Now, keep in mind that I started on wordpad, cause that's all I had. I sent in my assignment on HIPAA and haven't heard anything back. So I downloaded the file that I sent them and somehow it was sent in a word file. So, needless to say, the margins weren't even. The lines didn't match up and it looks like shit. But it says if you don't recieve an email confirmation within 24 hours you need to resend assignment. So I went back into wordpad and printed a copy and sent it in the mail. I have been struggling with the computer class cause they are telling me to do stuff that I don't see on the program that I downloaded. There are files that I downloaded from school but I can't pull them up. I get the "windows cannot open this file because we need to know who created it". So, I call the school to see how to fix this and he said I need to download 2007 word. He said just to go to microsoft and download the free trial for 60 days. I have been trying that but my computer keeps kicking me off the internet every hour or so. Keep in mind, I have dial-up and it's gonna take 16 hours to complete the download. Which is no big deal cause I would just let it run until the download is complete if it wouldn't keep shutting down. So, I will probably just go buy it. It's bingo night so I'll probably just go early and stop somewhere and buy it. Which really sucks cause it's about $150 or so. Oh well. Then I'll have it I guess. I started my english unit and I am stuck again cause I have to write a paper being offered a interview for a new job and I have to convince them to hire me, and the next one is writing my cousin about a job I think she should apply for and try to convince her to apply. I'm no good at this kind of stuff. So, now I'm stuck in 2 different units. @##!@!!#$%%$@#@#%^&*(*((*^$#. This is not what I was hoping for. Oh well, I am taking three days off in a couple weeks to burn up vacation pay before I lose it so I hope to get caught up on some of this stuff. It's my weekend off this week so I will be there with bells on. My download is up to 5%. Wow huh? I may as well just stop it. I wish I could pause it resume when I turn the computer back on but I don't see that option. Oh well, maybe I will go on line and see who has it the cheapest so I know what store to go to. Thank you all for letting me vent. As If you had the choice. See ya all this weekend. Yap at ya all later.
Winding Down
Hey everyone. I hope you're all coming this Saturday, cause I haven't really been able to make it to see everyone that I would like to this week. Maybe I can convince mom to go to Little Falls with me one night this week to spend some extra time with Gramma, cause that would be really nice. Although I'm guessing that Little Falls is about the last place she feels like going this week now that school just finished. But anyway, it'd be great. Time is really getting away from me. The danger is always when you first get here, and you stop yourself from doing everything because you realize that you have "plenty of time" then next thing you know you have 4 days to get your shit together and you don't feel like it at all cause you'd rather be hanging out with people. But it's the same old story everytime, I should expect that by now.
I'm excited to see you all this weekend. It was really great to see you and Austin, Pam. I'm glad you're coming again.
See you all soon.

Finished work yesterday, so can now concentrate on the grad party this Saturday. I planned out the menu today and the only thing that I know of that I could use for food is desserts. If anyone wants to bring a pan of bars or something, let me know. Other than that, I think we are set.
I have a hard time getting up at 6:30 for work, then today, on my first day to sleep in, I woke up at 6:30. Go figure. Well, I am going to do some power cleaning. Talk at ya later. -Kiash

Congrats!!
Congratulations Mackie!!!
Looking forward to the party on Saturday! Melissa has to work but Austin is excited about coming up again:)
Is there anything that I can bring to help for food? Just let me know; whatever I can do to help, I'd be more than happy to.
