shayla, good luck with the auditioning. sounds like your getting your foot in the door anyway. tell jesse to be nice. although that does have a cute little ring to it, the shrimp with the gimp. hope it's getting better. hi everyone. oh yeah. kathy, i went in the ditch about 10 miles from home. the road was good for about 2 miles on 18. the rest of the way sucked big time. 35-40 miles an hour all the way home. i was somewhere between chico's and hucklebucks and the car started sliding and spun around and in the ditch i went, and during that period of probably 30 seconds, that seemed like 30 minutes, i hung on to my seat belt cause we all know that if you roll and you got both hands grasping your seat belt you wont bump your head on anything. i had my head tucked to my chest, eyes closed, saying please dont roll, please dont roll. and the car just kept going and going. i didn't roll. but it seemed like i went a mile before the car finally stopped.i didn't get stuck in the ditch, so i was trying to get out, i would get right to to the egde of the road and just spin. so i'd back down into the ditch and try again. as i was doing this, i was thinking if one of these pickups would stop and hook up to me i could get right out. guess what happened next? a pickup stopped. being the good samaritan that he was he rolled down the window and said for $40 i can yank ya right out of there. i asked if he would take a check as i didn't have any cash, he said sorry, can't do that. good luck. nice guy. and then a girl stopped, and tried pushing me out but that didn't work either. god love her for trying. then i got the attention of a nice state trooper. anyone who has ever had the opportunity to meet one of these guys knows i am being very sarcastic cause he was NOT NICE. he said, besides going too fast, what happened? i said i was only going about 35 and i lost control. at this point, he raised his voice and said you were driving too fast, i've been up and down this road all night and i didn't go in the ditch. look at that car right there, he's not going in the ditch. at this point he took my license and went back to his car. i'm thinking of course everyone is driving slower. what would your reaction be if you seen a car in the ditch, slow down so you don't join them there right? plus there's a cop on the side of the road. people gotta slow down to see what's going on. he kept my license for a long time so i walked up to the road to ask for it back and he got out of the car and gave it back to me along with a nice little warning ticket. again belittling me by saying i should give you a ticket. you have a class a license and i hold you at higher standards than other drivers. i'm just giving you a written warning. i thought oh thank you kind sir. he let me know he would stay there until he got another call. because now that i went in the ditch, other people are gonna go in the ditch in the same spot. nice fellow. glen shows up with the bulk truck. i'm thinking, this aint gonna please this young man. but he didn't say anything. he just sat in his little car. i drove back up to the road, glen hooked the chain on and i drove right out. as he was unhooking the chain, the trooper rolls his window down and says, stay warm and drives away. needless to say, i put my flashers on and drove 20 miles an hour the rest of the way home. i have never lost control before and i was pretty shook up but i made it, obviously. so that was my penence for calling in sick when i wasn't sick. that'll teach me. yap at ya all later.
