So I tried walking today and it didn't really hurt, which leads me to think that there is no way it's actually broken. I am rather tired of it being a mystery though, especially after seeing two different doctors already. But tomorrow morning I have an appointment with a specailist, and maybe I shouldn't, but I am counting on it being my chance to get to the bottom of this foot pain. I tried walking around the house a little bit, and it didn't hurt while I was walking really at all, but it did hurt a little bit afterwords, so I'm not gonna do too much of that.
But now I have tickets to come home next week so I might as well just use em bad foot or good foot. It's sort of annoying though, that it should happen to feel alright the day after I buy a plane ticket. But worse case scenerio, I'll come home and have a good time and just make it a short visit instead of an all month visit.
But way to go mom on your interview. That's so exciting. But don't hype it up in your head too much. You don't have to make a decision right away if you get the job, and if you don't get it, then I guess the answer is that you were supposed to stay in MN for a little while longer. Dont' get me wrong though, I do think it would be awesome if you got the job. Just saying, it's not life or death. But either way, they'd be damn fools not to hire you. You're a perfect canidate.
I"m glad you tried for that job Tammy. Even if you don't get the job. Not to say that you won't. But I can tell you first hand, I go to intense job interviews all the time (aka auditions) and everytime I walk away from them, no matter how it went, I'm always really glad I tried. Because I came a heck of a lot closer to it than I would have not leaving my apartment that morning. So consequently I feel like a big fat loser now that I never ever leave the apartment.
Jenny, I will try to think of some ideas for fundraising for you guys. One really useful thing I've seen around town is to put a flyer and an empty candy jar at a shop or store or something. I don't know if you can do that as a private participator, but if you have any ties to any places with a cash register, I'm sure people would put money in a jar you set up next to it. Otherwise there's always the garage sales and bake sales. Grammas really great in the event of a bake sale. Best thing to do is to look around for some sort of even, like a community theatre play or something where you can set up your goodies, with permission of course. And if your feeling really ambitious, there's always the benefit dinner. Problem with that is that it'll cost you some money to set it up, but you sell tickets for like $20 and just rent a dining hall or something, get your friends and family to help out with the food preparing and serving. Hire some entertainment. like mitch doing magic tricks and influence some young people you know to put on a play or something and you've got quite a party. It'd be a totally great way to raise funds as long as you're sure you can get enough people to go. But I'm sure you could. I guess I'm out of ideas now. I raised all my money for my fieldtrips just going door to door selling things. I think that's something that was jsut open to me as a kid in school. Although I still look like one so I might still be able to pull it off.
Longest email ever.
Love you all, and here here Tammy, if there's something they didn't know, it's their fault, and we can't be hearing anymore of this "no one ever tells me these things" stuff.

Hello all!
I just read 2 months worth of comments and I feel somewhat caught up. No legit excuses for my lack of participation - just slacking. Not much going on here. I am back at work again after 23 days off (it has been heavenly). I finally made it to Hawaii - spent 8 days in Maui and 4 days in Kauai. It was great!
I have my summer work schedule (through mid-August) so I am looking into dates to travel to MN. As of now, I am thinking either the last week in May or the first week in August. I will keep you all in the loop. Oh, I can always use a little company hanging out by the pool - so let me know if the Cali sun is calling you.
Glad to hear that Grandma is doing well with sugar-control. My dad mentioned that Ed has been sick too? Hopefully everything is better and settling out for both of them.
Interesting to hear you all talk about moving and job changes. I can't wait to hear how Shayla & Kathy's plans work out - I like the idea of some company on this side of the country. (Seattle's only an hour by plane!) Nice work on the job interview Tammy - every attempt and experience will help and something will fall into place when the time is right. I still think about moving (somewhere cheaper), but my hard-to-beat job is holding me here. Perhaps, too is the weather...flip-flops are out in full-force!
I will try to check back a little more frequently. I have to work 3 out of the next 14 days - so you can imagine the stress! :) Take care everyone! Keep in touch!
Love, Nikki (nikincali@comcast.net)
