Hi Everyone!
It's been a while, I know. Winter sucks. I am so glad we have good weather coming. It's so boring in the winter, there just isn't much to say. I've been busy with Speech. I am judging for the high school this year. It's almost done, just two more meets. We were coming to Milaca this Saturday and I was going to see if Tammy would be home and visit for a while, but because Little Falls is rocking this year in sports and are in the State Hockey tournaments, many of the Speech kids who are also in Band will be in the cities, so we cancelled our participation in the Milaca meet and are going to St. Francis next Saturday. The Flyers had three of their teams go to state this year! Wow!
I'm still entertaining the idea of going to a warmer climate to teach, but frankly haven't been offered a job anywhere yet. I am starting to get a little worried about it anyway with the economy the way it is, I would be the first to be let go when they cut back. Also, I have a set curriculum for the first time and my job is getting a lot easier. So I am thinking maybe I should stay where I am for a couple more years. But nothing is set in stone. I guess I'll wait and see.
Our state governement is planning to put a wage freeze on us this year, so we'll see what happens with that and with our district and the negotiations.
I finally painted some canvases for the living room-a colorful, seemingly random, abstract montage complete with the little mirror chips that I got from Jess for Christmas and glow in the dark stars. I think it will be cheerful. I am going to create some kind of mirror mosaic to complete the set too. I think we'll like it.
Finally got a new dishwasher installed here. Been waiting for it since I moved in.
Also bought a car two weekends ago as the Escort was on its last leg. It set me back financially for a month or two, but I needed to do it. Sold the Escort last weekend to someone who knew all about its problems but wanted to fix it. Cool.
I know I said there was nothing to say...I guess what I meant was that there is nothing earth-shattering to share.
Hope all is well with everyone. Have a super weekend.
P.S. Anyone going to Deb's surprise party? I wasn't planning to cuz I had the speech meet, but now that it's been cancelled, I will give it another thought.
